|||||THE BEST BAND EVER. LOLZ.||]|
dashboard confessional ;)(Y)
i know, i know, my cool rating automatically slips down a few notches with this one. But! I love them and all their lyrics too. It's just so god-damn addictive when a charmingly good looking man starts his lush vocal-cry using heart-breakingly angsty lyrics through the speakers- "so kiss me hard, cos this will be the last time that i let you". Add song titles along the lines of... "remember to breathe", "hope you're happy", "i'm missing", and "living in your letters" and what you've got is a PR company's dream. Not forgetting the generations of thirteen year old hoody-wearing kids who lap this up like the starving, heartbroken little kittens that they are. It ticks all my boxes for the signature mix of angst and pain which so delightfully defines the emo-generation-american-pop-rock-shite that we know (and love). Sure, we liked them when we were thirteen and first discovered that dad was shagging the lady down the road and mum was secretly doing volunteer work down at the local masseure shop... But theres just something about the young love/lust combination and the honest self-deprecating howls which just make you fall in love with this band. While weezer was away in the late 90's this band; more poineintdly- lead singer chris Carrabba , flew the flag as the "heartthrob for the misunderstood" in keeping emo in the mainstream. Links with Pixie's producer Gil Norton and members of Sunny day real estate leaves the band with a little more credibility? no? well i guess i'll just have to get over that.
Dashboard Confessional- Hope You're Happy
and my personal favourite, Dashboard Confessional- The Best Deceptions
I *heart* dashboard confessional. IDST.
